Steps

Place a circle paper filter inside the detachable plastic filter cap.

You will need to wet your paper filter with a little amount of the hot water you’ll be using over your mug or decanter. This eliminates the papery taste of the filter as well as pre-heat your container. *Be sure to discard your water before you pour your coffee in your container to avoid diluting your coffee.

Assemble your Aeropress making sure both body pieces are completely dry.

Place the assembled Aeropress inverted on your scale (the end where the filter cap screws on is facing up).

Add your ground coffee in the top chamber. You may use a funnel to avoid losing some coffee grounds.

You’ll need to get your timer ready for this step. Pour approximately 30 grams of boiling water (200 ̊F) starting your timer as soon as hot water hits your coffee grounds. You will need to let the coffee saturate for 30-40 seconds. You may use your paddle or knife to make sure all your grounds are wet.

After saturating your coffee grounds, add 150 grams of boiling water (a little over half a cup).

After one minute on your timer, stir your coffee again about 10-12 rounds to agitate.

Screw the filter cap with the wet paper filter to make sure it locks tightly. You will need to flip the entire Aeropress. Use your container or vessel to catch any liquid pouring out as you flip to avoid spillage. Immediately apply pressure from the top of the Aeropress pushing downward to release your coffee. You will feel resistance. Press all the way down until there’s no more liquid left in your chamber.

Enjoy your coffee.
